Another borrower, a former freelancer with business loans as well as consumer loans and credit cards, that is, with a total debt of many thousands of euros, settled his debts through the institution of mediation.
The above-mentioned borrower had even signed his business loan, having his daughter as a guarantor and having mortgaged a property. In fact, because he did not repay the monthly installments, a payment order was issued by the Bank.
Then about a year ago he addressed to Anna Korsanou’s law firm and initially an appeal was lodged against the payment order.
But lately the Bank with which the borrower had his dispute has started mediations and is currently the only Bank in Greece that has started loan mediation.
A meeting was held with an accredited mediator, a request was made to the Bank for mediation, after the borrower’s data had been examined, the request was accepted and the date and a specially designed for mediation room were set. On the same day and after eight hours of negotiation a successful mediation was achieved, and a successful bidding agreement was signed for the borrower.
In fact, three meetings with the lawyer, the mediator and the day of mediation solved a problem that plagued him for a decade. Had he filed a lawsuit with Katseli Law (even if he had the conditions that he did not have because he had immovable property) or if he had pursued the appeal lodged against the payment order, it would have been delayed for a long time until the trials to take place and with uncertain effect.
Each season has its circumstances and now mediation seems to be the most advantageous solution.
You should be careful! The process of mediation is a different process of a simple arrangement that takes place in the Bank’s branch. Mediation is an officially serious and tiring process that can take all day long and requires serious preparation. You should consult an experienced lawyer and accredited mediator who knows the process and is experienced so as to guide you properly.
Mrs. Anna Korsanou has been an accredited mediator since 2013 and is one of the first to be accredited in Greece. She is currently the lawyer who has started and participated in so many bank mediations of even millions of euros with complete success considering that mediation is still unknown in Greece and little applicable at present.
Unfortunately, nowadays only one Greek Bank currently applies mediation process, but in the future, it will obviously follow the others too, it just takes time. It would be wise for borrowers to consider mediation as a way of definitive resolution their debt problems.
You can discuss your loan issues with Mrs. Anna Korsanou and the possibility of mediation by booking an appointment at her office.
